This was my thirteenth year of teaching. I grew up in Elgin, Nebraska, where I attended Pope John XXIII. I then went to UNL where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. From there I attended UNO where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I graduated with my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in May of 2008. I began my Masters in Educational Leadership in June of 2017 through Creighton University.
I enjoy working with children and especially like working with fourth graders. I think fourth graders have such a wonderful personality and outlook on life. They constantly surprise me and keep me on my toes. I love being a teacher. It allows me to work with all different types of people and I enjoy the variety in my daily activities. I am very passionate about learning and work very hard to pass this along to my students. I strive to get to know each one of my students, which allows me to match my teaching to each learning style.
My husband, Kent and I were married in July of 2004. We have a daughter, Ava, who will be in 5th grade, a son, Ayden who will be in 3rd grade, and a daughter, Alayna who will be in 1st grade. My husband, Kent works for L & L Custom Builders as their designer and project manager.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to play all types of sports, especially volleyball. I also enjoy going on runs and reading.
I am always available to talk. You can email or call me at anytime throughout the day, and I will respond to you as soon as I have a chance.
I am a strong believer that parents play an important role in the academic success of each child. I will work to keep you informed and involved in your child’s academic year. Please be sure to "like" my classroom Facebook page and to follow me on Twitter.
